Summer’s End Part 2 of 5

by Andrew Viertel

September’s deceptive warmth

A mantle concealing the subtle chill

The tip of autumn’s frigid spear

Slipping between cloud-fractured ribs of late summer sunshine

A merciless coup de grace

To the broken promise of a summer that should have been

But barely was.

About Andrew

I'm a Christian, American, liberal, geeky, thoughtful, Northwest-transplanted Angeleno husband, father, and pundit who writes about anything he can think of.
