Illusion is a beautiful flower

Illusion is a beautiful flower,
one that blooms on hope and despair.
It draws you in, gently,
suddenly you are lost in its beauty,
senses trapped beneath a veil of deceit.
A bewitching mirage,
which fools those that answer only to desire.
Caught in an illusion, you see only the manifestations;
the colors that blind the eye,
the surface, and never the profoundness inside.
An Illusion is always sweet,
but no matter how much you hang on to it,
it will always waver in front of reality.
It is fragile as a castle
build over glass and blend with lies.
It is misleading as the soft words of a swindler,
fickle as the flame of a candle
beset by the wind.
Illusion is a beautiful flower,
a distorted rainbow,
a villain with a myriad of forms,
a mirage that we are bound to chase…

“a bewitching mirage” ~ Love this. The poem is fragrant like a flower.
