Her Fear

In honor of National Suicide Prevention  Week I wrote this poem:

Her fear.
Filling her bones.
Aching.
Afraid to say.
Promises broken.
Faking.
This simple life.
Heartless.
Her actions towards self.
Her fear?
Losing the ones who care.
She tries.
Lost hope.
Her pain.
Back again.
Worthless.
Written on her arm.
Help me.
Not a chance…
She could make it.
Break…
Heart ache…
Soreness…
Tear stained…
Eyes.
Her fear…
Pain inside.
Her smile?
Hidden behind.
Left over guilt.
Never enough.
Strength?
There isn’t.
Love?
She wishes.
Hope?
Never coming.
Comfort;
The unlikely truth.
A lie to be told.
Her body cut.
Her wrists sting.
Broken life;
Broken love;
Broken glass…
Broken skin.
Regret.
Fear filling her soul.
Tears in her eyes.
Loveless.
Hopeless.
Hurt.
Her fear.
Forgiveness?
A new concept.
Hope?
Second chances.
Life.
Life?
True love.
Real love?
Honest love?
It must end.
(But it won’t).
Her fear?
Dishonesty.
Trust.
Faith in the Unseen.
Seen by love.
Blind eyes.
Lame legs.
Deaf ears.
I hear.
Walking.
I see…
Her fear?
Not knowing.
Misunderstood…
But wait.
Love.
Life.
Hope.
Forgiveness.
Forgiveness?
A new idea.
A new definition;
Erasing her past,
Her pain.
Her regrets.
Her hate.
Her hurt.
Her lies.
Her fear.
Forgiveness?
Love.
True love.
Her forgiveness.
Her story.
To share.
To save…
The lost.
The broken.
The needy.
The self-harmers.
Her fear?
Gone.

This was very powerful and intense…
Beautifully articulated! 😦 The fears and reasons driving one to this step…

  2. dafearon says:

I agree with Kavita. Very relateable as well!

  3. alienhippy says:

Very inspired, I hear this one too.
“What’s hidden in the darkness will be brought into the light.”
Not many have walked this path and have the love in their hearts to share it.
Blessing to you my dear childofagodunseen.
    Love and {{hugs}} x
