Prizefighter

Creeping out

of a small hole &

weighing in

at about

1

whole stick of butter.

Poking at the traps

laid out in front of him

then

slapping all 4’s down

with purpose

to

run and slide

on the marble

making music with compact sized

taps

until he came

across a spot

where the moon light

shined all the way down

to the floor

and for a few moments

he stopped

and looked

and wiggled off a flea or two

and

then

when it was least expected

he

squeaked

in it.

    Nice, Dave.

    Well versed.

    Rhyme on!

  2. Words are sparse, but imagery and movement is strong. And the prizefighter take makes me laugh: “1 whole stick of butter” is somehow 10x funnier than “1 stick of butter.”
    Nice!

I’ll have to try squeaking in the moonlight sometime.
