Welcome Charter Member, Angel Zapata!

Angel provided this offering to join the ranks of the Undead…Poets, that is:

“Hi Tim.
Great site. Becoming a member of the Undead Poets Society sounds horribly fun.”

The Playground

They dwell below the sandbox
where the playground blocks the sun.
Their toys have all been broken,
useless legs refuse to run.

They thrash against their coffins
frantic for the world outside.
Living children bounce above them,
screaming as they swing and slide.

Beneath the dirt they’re buried,
hapless victims of decay.
They hide, but no one’s seeking.
Dead throats whisper, Come and play…

Angel is now entitled to display the coveted UDPS Charter Member logo on his site, etc., and has Author rights to post verse and images to his heart’s content on the UDPS site! Only One more coveted Charter Member spot is available. After that, we will still accept (Undead)Poets, but we will have met our (Undead)Lucky 13 Charter Members! There is still time, so “joooiiinnn usss”!

    Yikes!
    You know you’re a freak — right? ;p
Here in S. Texas, the majority of the ground is clay, so about this time of year when the temp gets to 100 plus everyday, the ground cracks open. By September, some of the cracks are so deep who knows how far down you could slip your arm down. I hope there aren’t any hapless, victims of decay in my yard. For they most certainly would reach up through those cracks…
